Lincoln Bike Lanes

Upon my arrival, back in the flatlands, what should I find but a bike lane straight down the middle of my daily commute. It has apparently caused quite the uproar with the regressives of the area. Accusations of cyclists not paying for the upkeep of the road and reaping special privileges stand out on the Lincoln Journal Star's comment page. Not a criticism with much creedence to cyclists who pay a wheel tax and let their vehicles stand idle while choosing to ride each day. They know that they shoulder a heavier tax burden in relation to damage done to the road.

Yeah, it sucks when special "priveleges" are given to those that are burning less fossil fuel on a daily basis- we should all drive hummers.
What's a wheel tax?
And I know I'm soon to be an English major but I think I mispelled priveleges. Anyone help out?

Good to have you back. I need to get together with you sometime and have a geeky discussion about cameras. I'll buy the beer.

I love the arguement that the motorists are the only ones paying for the bike lanes. I pay wheel tax too. So if I'm riding a bicycle and not driving my car, should I get my wheel tax refunded?

I think it's hard for some people to
imagine that a person who owns both
a car and a bicycle would choose to
ride the bicycle
.
