Excerpt of a letter to a friend abroad:
Things you are missing by not being here include: gritty slush, static clinging thermal underwear, monochromatic skies, republicans, pink lambskin mukluks on eighty pound bulimics, syllabuses, reality television ( I use the term loosely), football, ethnocentrism, I-80, and of course one that you should miss if you don’t...Heileman’s Old Style.

Lower your eyes. Focus on something. Now look up. Is it five months later? It is here. An entire semester has come and gone. Lamentable in some respects but cause for rejoice in others. Bike clinics, economics, climbing wall, art history, teaching class, taking class. Fewer bike rides and more academics. Not as many photos taken but many more organized. It is tempting to think that balance is not as crucial on flat land but it seems this flatland helps me find it.
This new edition contains many older images along with new. The archival of these has been a mix of elation and tedium as I discover forgotten memories and have to decide where to file them. It is my hope that you enjoy them from your screen but that you might also share them with others. Indeed, some of you have already shared the experiences that brought these about. All of the images are of email size so feel free to use them for that. If you are interested in prints please let me know.
Additional content is forthcoming and I welcome your comments, ideas, and suggestions on what that might be. I have not yet nailed down why I enjoy doing this so much but if I can help you to enjoy it more than all the better. All for now. Cheers.
